Three Common Roaches That Can Be Found At Home

Of the 4000 odd species of cockroach found in this planet, only around three in fact cause a problem and are known to infest our homes and workplaces. There are a few other species that are similar, but are found in the home a small less often. Each cockroach is vaguely varied & has its own uncommon characteristics. But they are all pests and can cause fantastic health hazards and hurt to us and our families.

Distinguishing these rats is pretty simple and can aid in killing techniques. It could be the first step in eradication & control. The later are the three major common rats.

American Cockroach

The American cockroach can grow up to 25mm in length. It has a reddish brown color and single stripe on the head. These creatures like the taste of liquor. Thus, they are often found in pubs or at home after party where wine, beer & alcohol was present. They can live for around 1 & half years, and have an incubation period of 6 to 8 weeks.

German Cockroach

The German cockroach boast of a tan or brownish color, and two lighter stripes on the back of its head. It can grow up to 15mm in length. It is doubtless breeds the fastest in evaluation to the rats, giving birth to around 30 to 40 nymphs with an incubation period of 30 days. At this rate, one cockroach can multiply into 30,000 in just a year. They can live for around 6 months.

Oriental Cockroach

The Oriental cockroach is doubtless the largest of these three. It grows approximately 25mm in length. They are a dark brown or black color with a shiny body and go more slowly than the other species. They are often called the waterbug ’cause they like to live in damp, dark areas. They are potentially found in cellars or damp mulch. Incubation can last 2 months with about 15 eggs hatching & they can each live for up to two years.
