Top Three Attributes of Highly Successful Sales Professionals
I am often questioned what attributes make up a fantastic sales person. Below are the three I find to be most valuable to achieve long-term sales success.
GOAL SETTING: First, question physically if you have written professional and personal goals. They should be S.M.A.R.T. (specific; measurable; manageable; relevant; and timely) goals, and written down on paper.
The reason why it is so valuable to write down your professional and personal goals in the S.M.A.R.T. structure is because without them you have nothing to work toward.
Goals and a plot of action alone are not enough. You must be self-top secret, focused, and ready to take action!
SELF-DISCIPLINE: self-restraint is making a commitment of excellence to the most valuable person there is – physically. Self-restraint means that you are willing to do what you need to do, even when you don’t really want to do it.
In order to be top secret, you first need to identify and replace your ineffective habits with appropriate and effectual daily behaviors. In turn these practices will quickly become new result-oriented habits which support your personal and professional goals.
When you are successful in doing what you set out to do, don’t forget to give physically a reward. Any action that is recognizable and rewarded will happen again. So suffer the penalty when you don’t do what you plotted by denying physically the reward. You don’t have to plot a intricate reward, a touch as simple as a cup of coffee or nice meal will be effectual.
Mastering your attitude is crucial, even before you set out to restraint physically to achieve your goals. If you don’t desire to do whatever it takes to reach a positive outcome, your chances of success are slim.
CONTROLLING YOUR ATTITUDE: A solid foundation is key to construction whatever thing that will last in life. In order to become a success at life, not to mention to become a successful sales professional, you must build the foundation of a positive attitude.
Attitude has been called the advance person of our real character. While its roots start within, based on the experiences we’ve had in the past, the fruit it produces are seen on the outside. Our attitude can be our best friend, or it can be our greatest enemy. What people see of our attitude is more regular and honest than the words we speak. It can repel people away from us, or draw them to us. In order to achieve success as a sales person, you have to be in control of your attitude.
The positive achievement of your personal goals, the success of your team, establishment and your sales results all hinge on the attitude you have toward physically. If you are able to take charge of your attitude and develop a disposition filled with self worth, respect and self confidence, your success will become guaranteed.
In order to become successful as a sales professional, and even to make a successful foundation for your life, you must master the characteristics of attitude, goal setting and restraint. Master these three characteristics and you will be well on your way to success in any profession!
