Dr. Douglas Lawson will be presenting an evening seminar to explore the tax advantages of planned giving to benefit nonprofit organizations. Dr. Lawson is the founding chairman of Lawson Associates in New York, the author of "Give to Live: How Giving Can Change Your Life" and a resident of Alto.
"The Joy of Giving" will be held in Alto on July 24th. Topics will include Charitable Remainder Trusts, Charitable Lead Trusts, and Charitable Gift Annuities. The seminar is an information only event; there will be no sales of any nature.
The seminar is being presented by the Spencer Theater, Humane Society of Lincoln County and Help End Abuse for Life. Local residents Fran Redinger, Bob Sterchi, and Rutalee Todd-Jernigan are underwriting the cost of the seminar.
